The Wilmot Youth Action Council has put together an awesome lineup for National Youth Week, May 1 to 7. Here’s a snapshot of five great events.
May 1: Gameshow Night. The Smart Waterloo Region Innovation Lab (SWRIL) hosts a gameshow night at the New Dundee Community Centre for youth in Grades 4 to 12. It’s a free event with prizes to win and snacks for sale.
May 2: Bowling Night at the New Hamburg Lanes. Youth between Grades 4 and 12 can put on their bowling shoes and get ready to roll. There’s a choice of two time slots: 6 to 7 p.m. or 7 to 8 p.m. Register in advance. The event cost is $3.50 for one hour for each person.
May 4: Star Wars Movie Day at the New Hamburg Branch of the Region of Waterloo Library. May the Fourth be with you. Youth from Grades 4 to 12 can enjoy Star Wars Movie Day as Luke Skywalker intended. This event is free, with movie snacks available for a small price. Dress up and feel the force. Please register in advance.
May 5: Family Dance Party at the St. Agatha Community Centre. It’s Family time in St. Agatha. Bring your family and join people of all ages for an afternoon of moving, grooving and shaking from 2 to 3 p.m. Admission to this event will cost a donation to the Wilmot Youth Action Council.
May 6: Video Game Night at the Wilmot Recreation Complex. Youth Grades 4 to 12 can come to the Hive for a free Game Night between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. Get into some friendly competition and win some prizes. Registration is not needed.
