The ad hoc Budget Advisory Committee met on Monday, January 30th to discuss the 2017 Capital Program and the updated 10-year Capital Forecast. The committee endorsed a program of approximately $8.9M in spending, funded with $1.7M in general levy dollars. Remaining funding is provided through development charges, reserve funds and senior government programs.
Some notable projects include: LED Streetlight Conversion Program; Emergency Services Radio System Upgrades; King Street Reconstruction; Wilmot Employment Lands Site Works; Hannah & Lewis Street Engineering Works; Wilmot-Easthope Culvert Replacement; Artificial Turf Sports Field; LED Lighting Retrofits at WRC; Library Services Facility Review; Scott Park Playground Replacement; New Dundee Park Tennis Court Replacement; Back-up Generators for St Agatha and New Dundee Community Centres; Trail Design Works and the completion of an Arts and Culture Master Plan.
The 10-Year Capital Forecast was updated based upon information provided through a variety of studies including, but not limited to, the Strategic Plan, Fire Master Plan, Recreation Master Plan, Trails Master Plan and Asset Management Plan. In addition, funding estimates were revised based upon approved Senior Government Funding programs.
