Wilmot Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Wilmot Accessibility Advisory Committee has been established to recognize the legislative requirements of the Ontarians With Disabilities Act and related legislation. The Committee members are appointed in accordance with existing municipal practice as contained in the Township’s Procedural By-law.
The Committee advises Council annually about the preparation, implementation and effectiveness of the Township’s Accessibility Plan and reviews and recommends appropriate accessibility policies regarding planning applications.
The Committee participates in an annual tour of all existing municipal buildings, structures or premises, and identifies existing barriers to persons with disabilities; as well as participates in the review of new municipal facilities.
The Committee prepares an annual written report to Council identifying such barriers.
Committee Composition
The Committee shall be composed of such persons, not fewer than 4, as the Council considers advisable, with 50% of the members of the committee being ‘persons with disabilities’, as defined by the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001. A Chair is selected by the members on an annual basis. Meetings are at the call of the Chair.

Property Standards Committee
The Property Standards Committee adjudicates any appeals of property standards orders as per Section22 of Property Standards By-law 2008-54. The Committee meets on an as-needed basis. The Committee members are appointed in accordance with existing municipal practice as contained in the Township’s Procedural By-law and serve for a four year term of Council. Members must be residents of The Township of Wilmot.

Committee of Adjustment
The Committee of Adustment consists of residents of the Township of Wilmot appointed by Wilmot Township Council. The Committee of Adjustment has the power to grant Minor Variances to the zoning by-law where changes do not conform exactly to the zoning by-law but follow its general intent. The Commitee also has power to give Consent to convey lands and to grant easements and right-of-ways. Committee Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month. For more information please contact the Secretary/Treasurer of the Committee.
