Municipal Law Enforcement / Animal ControlMunicipal Law Enforcement As Township residents, we can be proud of our civic achievements including the maintenance of our enjoyable and attractive neighbourhoods. Respecting the rights of our neighbourhoods and citizens is very important to community living. Unfortunately, at times residents may act in a manner which may be offensive or unneighbourly. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers investigate complaints received from the public regarding alleged violations, and non-compliance with various township by-laws. Please keep in mind that some complaints and unavoidable neighbourhood inconveniences are a part of community living and generally require a reasonable level of understanding and tolerance. However, excessive and continued activities that disturb or negatively affect the enjoyment of our neighbourhoods should not be tolerated by anyone. Animal Control The enforcement division of the Clerk’s Department is responsible for canine control within the Township. Any resident who has lost their dog should contact the By-law Enforcement Division of the Clerk’s Department or the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society at 745-5615. Because food and shelter are plentiful, and natural predators are limited, these animals will continue to live near us. If we learn to share the environment with wildlife and reduce problems by getting rid of sources of food and shelter on our properties, these visitors can entertain us as they make their way to a more suitable home. Find out how you can protect your property and live in harmony with the township’s wildlife. The cages can be picked up at the Township of Wilmot Offices,  60 Snyder’s Road West Baden. There is a rental cost of $10.00 and an additional security deposit of $50.00 refunded upon return of the cage. |
