Lottery Licences may be applied for by eligible charitable or not-for-profit organizations. Lottery Licences are not available for private functions or individuals to fundraise for personal reasons even if you are intending to give the funds raised to charity.
The Township of Wilmot can provide eligible charities and not-for-profit organizations with Lottery Licences for the following types of lotteries:
The Province of Ontario, through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, licence all on-line raffles. Please visit Electronic Raffles | Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (agco.ca) for information.
If your organization has never had a lottery licence with the Township of Wilmot before, please contact the Administrative Clerk to verify your eligibility.
If you have had lottery licences from the Township before then please use the proper application form and return it to the Township Office complete with two signatures for processing, if your Board of Directors have changed from the information previously submitted ensure the Township Office is provided with the updated information. The licence fee for lotteries is always 3% of the total prize value. Lottery Licences generally only take a few minutes to process but please call ahead to ensure someone is available to help you.
Following your lottery event a report will need to be completed and filed with the Township.
