About

A Special Event Permit is required by any person or organization wishing to hold a special event on any roadway or on a Township of Wilmot property.

A Special Event includes a parade, procession, street dance, sidewalk or street sale, race, marathon, walk-a-thon, triathalon, demonstration or any other similar event.  (Funeral or wedding processions are not considered special events)

Applications must be made eight weeks prior to the event date, enabling the Waterloo Regional Police Service to schedule appropriate staff, and Township and/or Regional staff to obtain the necessary approvals.  It is recommended to book your Special Event as early as possible as many events are held on the same day each year.  If Waterloo Regional Police already have a major event on that day you may be requested to pick an alternate date to hold the event.
