On Monday, December 17th, at the first meeting of the 2019 ad hoc Budget Advisory Committee, the committee established a target levy increase of 2.0% for the 2019 municipal budget.
This levy increase is consistent with the historical practice of adjusting based upon Core CPI as the measure of inflation.
After factoring in assessment growth of 1.43%, this increase would generate approximately $266,000 in new funding towards programs and services across the municipality. The committee also approved revisions to the Fees and Charges schedules in an effort to offset the impact of reductions in Provincial funding through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF).
The Budget Committee endorsed the allocation on $46,504 in grant funding through the Municipal Grants Program, and an additional $5,000 through the KWCF funded Discover Your Wilmot Matching Grant Program.
