The overall purpose of a road is to provide efficient and safe passage for all modes of transportation, including active transportation. There are approximately 500 lane kilometres of roads and 85 kilometres of sidewalks within the Township. The Roads department provides services that support the following infrastructure areas:

Pothole Reporting |
The Township patrols roads on a 7-14 day schedule to document, report and issue work orders for deficiencies and hazards. Nobody on the planet likes potholes, so please help us by reporting them in our Potholes page. |
General Roadway Operations and Maintenance |
Staff conduct road surface repairs and maintenance, sign operations and maintenance, shouldering repairs and many other road operating functions on a seasonal basis. |
Proposed Parking Prohibitions |
The Public Works and Engineering department is reviewing on-street parking conditions on local and collector roadways throughout the Township. As a part of this review, the Township is proposing parking restrictions on horizontal curves along certain streets to address sightline concerns, improve safety and ensure access for emergency services vehicles. Staff conduct snow removal activities for all Township roadways and some sidewalk locations. More information can be found in our Snow Removal page. Residents are reminded that they are responsible to clear snow and ice from the sidewalks fronting their property. |

Overnight Parking |
Overnight parking is prohibited between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the winter months (December 1 to March 31) and will be strictly enforced to ensure fast and efficient winter maintenance operations.
