About Facilities and Recreation Services

Directed by Scott Nancekivell, the Facilities and Recreation Services Department is comprised of four sections: Aquatics, Arenas, Parks & Facilities, and Community Programs.

AQUATICS

The Aquatics Section is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and operational activities of the pool. Also the Sections plans all aquatic programs including the Red Cross Learn-To-Swim Program (4 months of age through to adult lessons). Staff utilize the Lifesaving Society and Red Cross Leadership programs for advanced aquatic instruction. The Township also offers a wide variety of recreational swim opportunities including length swims, family swims, open swims and aquafit classes. The Wilmot Aquatic Aces (swim club), Special Olympics and the Board of Education are also major user groups at the Wilmot Community Pool.

Please contact the department if you have any questions.

ARENAS

Management of the Wilmot Recreation Complex and the New Hamburg Complex is the responsibility of the Facilities & Recreation Services Department. Day-to-day maintenance and operational activities as well as food concession operations, ice installation and removal, scheduling, and maintenance are all coordinated by this Section.

During the summer months, arena staff assist in the parks as required, and perform seasonal maintenance activities on the arena/community center building and grounds as well as helping with summer facility rentals and during major events held at the arena facility and on the adjacent fairground property.
