Wilmot's Zoning By-law establishes and regulates land use in the Township by implementing the policies of the Official Plan. To determine the zoning of your property, you can use our interactive Zoning map.

Zoning By-law

The Zoning By-law determines how land and buildings may be used, where buildings and other structures can be located, as well as lot sizes and dimensions, parking requirements and building heights.

In the following sections, you can review the Township of Wilmot Zoning By-law as updated by By-law 2020-026 together with amendments up to November 4, 2024.

Zone Change Application

A zone change application is required to amend the Township Zoning By-law.

Zoning Complaints and Infractions

Investigation and inspections related to zoning complaints and infractions is completed by Township By-law enforcement.

By-law enforcement will:

Investigate by-law complaints
Enforce by-law regulations and standards
Help to achieve resolution to by-law infractions through voluntary compliance or prosecution
