In November 2017, the Township of Wilmot made a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG's) by 25% by the year 2027. This commitment has made the Township a "pledging partner" within the Regional Sustainability Initiative.

Regional Sustainability Initiative

The Township of Wilmot is committed to conserving energy, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water conservation and waste diversion. We are a member of Sustainable Waterloo Region and the Regional Sustainability Initiative. As such, the Township receives full access to Regional Sustainability Initiative services, critical towards making a future GHG reduction commitment, reducing water consumption and diverting waste from the landfill.
