Huron Road culvert replacement project

Site preparations include tree removals, installing a temporary access road and temporary hydro/utility relocation work.
Project details
This 1950s era culvert was recommended for full replacement during a 2023 OSIM inspection. The culvert is located on Huron Road, approximately 10 metres east of Haysville Road.
Kieswetter Excavating was awarded the contract to replace the culvert. The replacement will be a precast concrete box culvert with the creek bottom being reinstated on top of the bottom section of the culvert to maintain a natural creek bottom.
Timing
Work is expected to last approximately two months once it begins.
Traffic impacts
- Huron Road will be closed between Holland Mills Road and Haysville Road
- The southbound lane of Haysville Road will remain open at the intersection of Haysville Road and Huron Road
- Portable traffic signs will be used to maintain two-way traffic on Haysville Road
Puddicombe Road culvert replacement project
Project details
This 1980s era culvert was recommended for full replacement during a 2023 OSIM inspection. The culvert is located on Puddicombe Road, approximately 200 metres south of Bridge Road.
This project will also include a redesign of the road shoulders and new guide rails to enhance motorist safety.
Timing
Work is expected to begin on or around August 17, 2026.
Traffic impacts
- Puddicombe Road will be closed south of Bridge Street for three weeks while the culvert is replaced.
- Traffic flagging will be in place for two weeks following the culvert replacement to accommodate guide rail installations.
