Cancellations and Closures

All Township parks, playgrounds, trails, the off-leash dog park and park amenities remain open. Please bring supplies for hand sanitization as these areas are not sanitized by the Township. 

Occasionally, the Township will have to cancel programs, close a facility or cancel games/practices on a sports field due to bad weather, maintenance and/or unsafe conditions. If a program has been cancelled or a facility/sports field(s) has been closed, every effort will be made to contact the facility renter (sports organization or league contact) or program participants, whichever is applicable, prior to their arrival at the facility.

Sports field conditions and closures:

Sports Field conditions are updated by 4:00 p.m. daily during times of bad weather. If a facility has been closed due to poor field conditions or bad weather conditions by the Township, please do not use the field. If a field is deemed unsafe to play by referees, umpires and/or coaches, but has not been closed by the Township, please do not use the field. Playing field conditions may have worsened after 4:00 p.m. due to the weather. We want you to be safe!

If a field is closed by the Township of Wilmot, any bookings that you may have at that location will be removed from your contract and an amendment showing the change will be emailed to you. In order to remove your unused booking from your contract, you must contact the facility scheduler by the following morning.
