Nestled along the banks of the Nith River, the Township of Wilmot is a small municipality in the Region of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Comprised of rolling farmland, quaint villages and bustling towns Wilmot Township is a popular destination to live, work, play and invest.


A community of communities

The majority of our residents live in the towns of New Hamburg and Baden and the smaller communities of St. Agatha, Petersburg, Mannheim, New Dundee, Philipsburg, Shingletown, Wilmot Centre, Haysville, Luxemburg, Lisbon, Sunfish Lake and Foxboro Green.

Population forecasts and demographics

The current population of approximately 22,500 persons is projected to increase to 28,500 by the year 2031. The Township prepares estimated settlement populations annually. Please contact our Planning Division for pre-2020 population data.
