Flood warning issued for New Hamburg

The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for New Hamburg in response to weather conditions that have brought warm temperatures and precipitation to the Grand River watershed.

River flows in New Hamburg are expected to reach Flood Warning Zone 1 during the morning of Saturday, January 10, 2025.

New Hamburg residents are encouraged to review the GRCA’s guide for information on flood warning zones. The guide includes helpful information about what to do before, during and after a flood.

Residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution around local waterways and stay off ice-covered waterbodies due to unsafe conditions. Parents and guardians should keep their children and pets away from watercourses.

Updates about the flood warning will be shared on the Township’s website, Facebook page, and Twitter/X account. Residents can register to receive email updates, as available, at www.wilmot.ca/subscribe.
