Wilmot Township Council entered a restricted acts period under section 275 of the Municipal Act, 2001, effective August 21, 2026.

Some Township of Wilmot facilities and programs will be affected by the upcoming Civic Holiday (August 3, 2026). 

With an Orange Level Heat Warning currently in effect, the Township of Wilmot is reminding residents of ways to stay cool over the next several days.

Hours at Township of Wilmot facilities - including the Administration Complex, Recreation Complex and Castle Kilbride - will be affected by the upcoming Easter weekend.

The “Municipal Elections Act, 1996” (herein “the Act”), as amended, provides that every eligible person who wishes to be a candidate in the 2026 Municipal Election, to be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, shall file a Nomination Paper with the Municipal Clerk of the municipality responsible for the office they plan to run for.

Nomination period opens on Friday, May 1, 2026, and closes on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m.

The Township of Wilmot has declared a snow event beginning at 12:00 a.m. on January 23, 2026. All on street parking is prohibited during a snow event to allow plows to clear roads safely and efficiently. Vehicles parked on the street during the snow event may be ticketed and/or towed.

Some aquatics and recreation programs hosted at the Wilmot Recreation Complex and St. Agatha Community Centre have been cancelled today due to the inclement weather.

The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for New Hamburg in response to weather conditions that have brought warm temperatures and precipitation to the Grand River watershed.

River flows in New Hamburg are expected to reach Flood Warning Zone 1 during the morning of Saturday, January 10, 2025.

The Township of Wilmot is ending its Significant Weather and Snow Events, effective immediately.

Declaring the end of the Significant Weather Event does not mean roads and sidewalks are in good usable condition. It only means that the weather has subsided enough that regular maintenance timelines can be met.
