Learn the history of Wilmot’s fire service at annual Heritage Day event
Residents can explore the rich history of Wilmot’s fire service at this year’s Heritage Day event, happening on February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the New Dundee Community Centre.
Now entering its third decade, Heritage Day offers an engaging opportunity to learn more about local history and culture. This year’s theme, “Firefighting Through the Years,” highlights the evolution of firefighting in Wilmot and celebrates the dedicated individuals who have served the community.
Attendees can look forward to informative exhibits, historical displays, and an educational presentation at this family-friendly event. Admission is free, and lunch will be available for purchase.
Junior firefighters are encouraged to enter the Heritage Day colouring contest. Children aged 3 to 12 can submit a completed colouring page for a chance to win a prize pack featuring free family admission to Castle Kilbride, plus a free family skate and swim at the Wilmot Recreation Complex.
The colouring page can be printed in advance from the Township website; copies are also available at the Administration Complex (60 Snyder’s Rd. W, Baden). Submissions will only be accepted at the Heritage Day event.
