Nominations close end of day Aug. 8 for Wilmot’s 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards

Have you been thinking of nominating someone special in the community—an athlete, someone in community service, an outstanding senior or youth, or someone in the culture field—for Wilmot’s 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards?

You still have until just before midnight on Thursday, Aug. 8 to help that person be recognized.

Each year, the Wilmot Township Citizen of the Year Awards recognize local volunteers for their exceptional contributions to the community. Awards are presented to community builders who have made outstanding community contributions in the following categories:

  • Athletics
  • Community Service
  • Culture
  • Seniors
  • Youth

Nominations are open until end of the day (11:59 p.m.) on Thursday, Aug. 8. Details and voting forms are available at wilmot.ca/CitizenoftheYear. Voting for nominees by the community begins on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Anyone who may not have online access is welcome to submit a nomination form and vote at the Township of Wilmot Administration Complex at 60 Snyder’s Rd. W. or at the Wilmot Recreation Complex at 1291 Nafziger Rd. during regular office hours. Paper copies of all nomination and voting forms are available.

Award recipients will receive their awards from Wilmot Mayor Natasha Salonen at the New Hamburg Fall Fair on Friday, Sept. 13.
