Townships lift open burn ban

In response to recent rainfall, the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich are lifting the open burn ban that has been in place since August 7.

Fires are once again permitted as set out in the by-laws for each municipality. Burn by-laws and fire permitting information are available online and by contacting your local fire department. 

Further burn bans could be implemented if conditions change. Weather forecasts will be closely monitored, and updates will be posted on municipal websites, social media and shared with local media, as available.
