Voting for Wilmot’s 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards is open Aug. 17 to 23

BADEN, ONT.— Voting is now open for Wilmot’s 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards, which recognize inspiring Wilmot residents in the categories of athletics, community service and culture as well as seniors and youth.

In July, the community nominated residents in the five categories. The community can now choose one person from the Community Service, Seniors and Youth categories. The Athletics and the Culture categories each have one nomination and not do require a vote.

Online voting opened Aug. 17 at 12:01 a.m. and will close Aug. 23 at 11:59 p.m. Visit wilmot.ca/citizenoftheyear.

Athletics

  • Leann Taylor
  • Kevin Thomason

Culture

  • Marie Voisin (vote not required)

Seniors

  • Marie Voisin

Youth

  • Katie Musselman
  • Paul Poirier

Award recipients will receive their awards from Wilmot Mayor Natasha Salonen at the New Hamburg Fall Fair on Friday, Sept. 13.
