The Parks, Facilities and Recreation Services department plays an important role in ensuring a quality lifestyle is enjoyed by residents in the community. We provide, maintain and operate the parks, community centres, sports fields, and playground equipment in our community. We also plan, organize and deliver a variety of recreational programs and activities for you to enjoy.
The department is divided into three divisions: Aquatics, Parks and Facilities, and Recreation and Community Services. Each division has specific duties/areas of responsibilities that they look after:
The Aquatics division is responsible for the delivery of programs and activities in the Aquatic Centre at the Wilmot Recreation Complex. The programs offered include the Learn to Swim Program, Aquatic Leadership Courses, Private and Semi-Private Lessons, Aquafit Classes, Lane Swims, Open Swims, Recreational Swims, and Family Swims.
The Parks and Facilities division is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and operation of the various parks, sports fields, trails, and community centers in the community.
The Recreation and Community Services division is responsible for department administration, customer service, cemeteries, facility scheduling, planning and organizing recreation and fitness programs, and drop-in activities, community development and bartending services.
Under the leadership of the Director of Parks, Facilities and Recreation Services, the three divisions work together as a team to enhance the quality for life for Wilmot residents.
