The Corporate Services Department is responsible for the municipal budget, corporate purchasing, property tax and water billing, debt and investment strategy and administration, municipal insurance, human resource management, corporate asset management and information technology systems.
Municipal Budget |
The annual budget for both operating and capital expenditures is coordinated by the Corporate Services Department. The ad-hoc Budget Advisory Committee meets frequently as part of the annual budget process. For more information on the Municipal Budget visit wilmot.ca/budget |
Property Tax Administration |
The Corporate Services Team calculates the annual tax levy for the Township, and incorporates approved rates from the Region of Waterloo and four local school boards into one tax bill. For more information on the Property Tax system visit wilmot.ca/taxes |
Water/Sanitary User Fee Administration |
The Corporate Services Team is responsible for the administration of the Township Water and Sanitary billing and collection processes. Using wireless technology staff collect usage information and bill users of the Water and Sanitary System according to bi-monthly usage. Corporate Procurement |
Purchasing is another division of the Department. Staff are responsible for administration of purchasing processes in accordance with the Township's Procurement By-Law, including public tenders and proposals. |
Corporate Asset Management |
The Township's Corporate Asset Management Program impacts every area of the organization and municipality, and is led by the Corporate Services Department. In accordance with the Ministry of Infrastructure "Building Together" guide, the Township Asset Management Plan (AMP) is a first step in establishing an overall municipal infrastructure strategy. Led by our Asset Management Coordinator, we are in the process of a multi-year Asset Management Roadmap to improve the accuracy and overall strength of the Asset Management practice in Wilmot. Human Resources Management |
Human Resources is a division within the Corporate Services Department. The Township of Wilmot is committed to fairness, equity, equality and inclusivity through effective Human Resources Management. Information Technology Systems |
IT Systems are the backbone of what keeps our organization connected both internally and externally with the community. The IT Services division is a part of the Corporate Services Department and is responsible for the on-going maintenance of network infrastructure, cyber security, hardware, software, physical security systems and digital communications. The IT Services team is currently undergoing an IT Master Plan exercise, to develop a longer-term plan to service corporate and community needs from an IT perspective. |

As part of long-term infrastructure planning, the Corporate Services Departments is responsible for debt management and municipal investment strategies. |
Municipal Insurance |
The Director of Corporate Services / Treasurer represents the Township as part of the Waterloo Region Municipal Insurance Pool. If you have incurred costs for an incident for which you believe the Township and or it’s agents / contractors is responsible, you can submit a claim. To have your claim considered you must follow the process and meet the requirements as detailed on our Insurance Claims webpage. Once we receive the claim it will be forwarded to the Waterloo Region Municipal Insurance Pool (WRMIP) where all claims are investigated by insurance professionals. You will be advised of the outcome of the investigation when all relevant facts are determined. |
