Plans well underway for Wilmot’s 2026 Canada Day celebration

The Township of Wilmot and its dedicated volunteers are excited to unveil plans for the community’s 2026 Canada Day celebration. This year’s event will include new food vendors, additional inflatables and more fun for all ages!

The event will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Norm Hill Park in New Hamburg. Admission is free, with activities including an Indigenous Sunrise Ceremony, live music, games, inflatables, vendors and food. The celebration will end with fireworks at dusk, weather permitting.

While work on the event is well underway, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved. The Township is currently seeking:

  • Volunteers to help with children’s activities, the dunk tank, entry and parking
  • Vendors for the upgraded vendors market and shopping experience
  • Sponsors to support games, activities or the overall event

Applications for the above, a pre-event survey and additional details are available at www.wilmot.ca/canadaday. Residents can also follow the Township on Facebook (www.facebook.com/wilmottownship) for regular updates about the event.
