Residents invited to speak to Council about new Official Plan

Wilmot residents will have the opportunity to share their ideas for the Township’s new Official Plan at a Special Council Meeting on November 17, 2025.

This meeting is part of the Township’s ongoing efforts to gather community feedback about the new plan. So far, residents have been engaged through one-on-one conversations, a booth at the New Hamburg Fair, and two public workshops.

The November 17 meeting marks the next phase of public engagement and will give residents the chance to speak directly with Council about the future of Wilmot. Community members may participate either in person or online. Those wishing to delegate virtually must register by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting at wilmot.ca/delegations.

Feedback collected at the meeting, along with input received through previous engagement activities, will help shape the new Official Plan. The plan will replace the existing Township and Regional Official Plans and support Wilmot’s long-term vision for growth, with a renewed focus on complete communities.
