Get on board with a fashion display that manifests the grandeur of travel during the steamship era. View clothing and outfits that made waves. In proud partnership with the Fashion History Museum.

Theme: A guided tour by costumed guide of the exhibits the Trip of 1936 and Vogue Voyages: Fashion on the High Seas Travel Clothes 1912 – 1939. Afterwards create a fabulous fascinator or brilliant bow tie.

Our popular tea and tours inspired by the museum’s special exhibit Vogue Voyages: Fashion from the High Seas 1912-1939. Enjoy a delightful, guided tour of Castle Kilbride and the Vogue Voyages exhibit by costumed staff. Afterwards sip on lemon chiffon tea while you indulge in a taste of tea menu items from around the world (British scones and baklava). Teas will be served on the front lawn, in the event of inclement weather (rain or heat) teas will be held indoors. Sorry we cannot accommodate food restrictions.

Trip of 1936 Exhibit

The year 1936 was a time of change as 18-year-old Laura Louise Livingston and her mother embarked on a trip that would change their lives forever. Looking back 90 years later, this exhibit explores the areas they toured and unexpected crossroads they encountered. From Norway to Germany, to Egypt through the Holy Land each stop broadened their views.

Ghost Walks at Castle Kilbride

They’re back………

Take a walk on Castle Kilbride’s eerie side. The tour features frescoes from an artist who should have been dead, playful kids throughout, including Kilbride’s resident spirit and haunted antiques that have found their way back to the Castle.  Participants secluded inside the house with their guide create a perfect environment for experiences. This indoor tour has not disappointed, it has been Ghost Walks most active. In partnership with Ghost Walks.

Homeschool Days

Cost: $5.25 per person

Homeschool Days at Castle Kilbride include a guided tour, activities and take-home craft. This year is all about trips and travel! Guided tours of the Castle and the Vogue Voyages: High Seas Fashion 1912-1939 and the Trip of 1936 exhibits. Afterwards make a craft to match the exhibits.  For students 5 years and older.

The fun continues with Tours and games from 8 until 9 p.m.

The Livingstons were known for their lavish garden parties, especially in the early 1930s. Join us as we recreate these popular parties featuring their favourite activities; tour of Castle, the Vogue Voyage and Trip of 1936 exhibits, lawn games, lemonade, music, and contests. Concert featuring Uptown Swing from 7 - 8 p.m.

Princess Party at Castle Kilbride

Date: Friday July 17, 2025
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $15/pp (tickets required)
Where fairytales come to life, it’s a Princess Party at a Castle! Make a magic wand, then have an enchanted evening with Belle and Ariel as they sing and dance to their signature songs, afterwards tour the Castle.
· Each character will perform a song for the children.
· An interactive story featuring the more popular story between the two characters.
· A fun dance-style game where the characters teach themed moves and play in an inclusive way that encourages everyone to participate.
· Pre-autographed colouring sheets for the children to take home as a special keepsake.
· Plenty of time at the end for hugs and photos with the characters.

Castle Camp- History's Mysteries

Castle Kilbride is calling all Super Sleuths to help uncover history’s secrets at our History’s Mysteries Summer Camp! Campers will dive into the mysteries of the past by becoming junior detectives.

Each day will present new secrets to solve from around the world, from Ancient Egypt to Greece to Medieval Europe and even Cryptid creatures!

Spend the week solving history’s biggest mysteries in fun and creative ways!

Dates: August 17 - 21

Ages: 8-12

Theme:  History’s Mysteries Monday– Dino Day, Tuesday-Egypt, Wednesday-Mythical Creatures, Thursday-Pirate, Friday– Super Sleuth Detective Day

Castle Kilbride: The House That Flax Built

Castle Kilbride Book

Castle Kilbride: The House That Flax Built is the definitive book about Wilmot Township's beloved National Historic Site, written and compiled by the Castle Kilbride Advisory Committee.

For the first time in full colour, this gorgeously illustrated book recounts the history of the house back to its very beginnings in 1877 and illustrates that history with stunning photographs dating from over a century ago to today.

For anyone who is curious about the eye-catching mansion in the middle of a quiet village, and for visitors who simply can't see everything in just one tour, this book will be a treasured keepsake.
