Important Update

Proof of Residency Requirements

The Township of Wilmot values our residents and remains committed to prioritizing services for taxpayers. Due to the high demand for our programs, we are implementing a new residency verification process for Township aquatics and recreation programs.

Starting in the winter session, random audits will be conducted on enrolled residents. Our staff will select 15 to 20 classes for this audit, and residents will be required to provide proof of residency by the end of the session. Acceptable documents include:

  • Property tax bill
  • Water bill
  • Major utility bill
  • Lease or rental agreement (signed by both landlord and tenant)

Proof of residency can be submitted online, by email, in person on your scheduled swimming lesson night.

If you cannot provide valid proof of residency, your account will be changed to non-resident status, and a 25% surcharge will be applied to your account.

Continued non-compliance or a second offence will result in suspension of access to all Township of Wilmot programs and rentals.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure services are provided to those who support the community through taxes.
