Wilmot voters encouraged to be “election ready” this October

With the 2026 municipal election just weeks away, Wilmot Township is reminding residents to make sure they are ready to cast their ballot. Online voting opens October 16, while in-person voting will be available on Election Day, October 26.

To prepare, voters should:

• Check their eligibility. To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, be 18 years of age or older, and live in Wilmot, own or rent property in Wilmot, or be the spouse of someone who owns or rents property in Wilmot. You must also not be prohibited from voting.
• Check the Voters’ List. Visit www.wilmot.ca/voterslist to confirm that your information is accurate. To add or update your information, bring proof of name and address to the Township Administration Complex at 60 Snyder’s Rd. W. in Baden.
• Check their Voter Information Letter (VIL). VILs were mailed in September to those on the Voters’ List and include voting locations and online voting instructions. If you did not receive a letter, bring proof of name and address to the Township Administration Complex.

A Voter Information Letter is not required to cast a ballot, but having one ready can make the process faster and easier. Voters without a VIL on Election Day should bring proof of name and address to their voting location, where election workers can assist.
