Township Development Charges are adjusted annually.
Construction may also be subject to Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Waterloo Region District School Board, and Waterloo Region Catholic District School Board Development Charges.

Council passed By-Law 2021-38, to amend Development Charges By-Law 2019-42, on the 12th day of July 2021 under section 2 )1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c. 27, as amended.
On Monday, May 31, 2021 the Council of the Township of Wilmot held a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the proposed amendment to the municipality’s development charges (D.C.) by-law and underlying background study.
Following the public meeting and comment period, an addendum was issued to the background study. The purpose of the addendum to the April 30, 2021 D.C. Update Study was to provide for revisions to the calculation of the charges arising from feedback received from the development industry. These comments affected the D.C. capital programs for Roads and Related Services, Water Services, and Wastewater Services. The Council approved By-Law 2021-38 was updated to reflect these changes.
In accordance with the Township's Development Charges By-law the Treasurer is required to furnish Council with an annual statement, in respect to Development Charges Reserve Funds.
