Municipalities across Waterloo Region are working together to create consistent best practice standards for new residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional developments. 

The Township of Wilmot is making progress on its 2025 municipal budget. 

Mayor Salonen, Ward 1 Councillor Cressman, Ward 4 Councillors Lillianne Dunstall and Steven Martin, along with Acting CAO Greg Clark, proudly represented Wilmot Township at the 2025 Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Annual Conference held from January 18 – 21 in Toronto.  The delegation attended Wilmot Township and joint township advocacy meetings and participated in important discussions about rural priorities with provincial ministers and officials.

The Township of Wilmot continues to work through the process of approving a municipal budget for 2025.

December 10, 2024 – The Township of Wilmot is temporarily changing the way it distributes property tax notices and water bills in response to the ongoing Canada Post strike.

The Township of Wilmot has released its draft 2025 budget, and it includes a significant one-time boost to capital infrastructure investments. 

The Prime Ministers Path Engagement Team thanks everyone who submitted an expression of interest application for the Working Group.

Over the last few months, Mayor and Council have heard from residents across Wilmot Township about a concerning increase in crime. With these concerns in mind, Mayor and Council have partnered with the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) to host a Wilmot Community Conversation on Public Safety.

As Fire Prevention Week 2024 approaches, the Wilmot Township Fire Department issues an urgent call to action: ensure every home has working smoke alarms. With fire-related fatalities remaining at a high level since 2020, this year's theme, “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You! ™,” serves as a critical reminder that lives depend on it.
